Joint Venture between Eco-Systems and Classic Exhibits Combines Design, Manufacturing and Distribution Strengths to Capture the Estimated $9.24 Billion Green Exhibiting Market

Grand Rapids, Mich. – Since the launch of the industry’s first green-built sustainable exhibit display system in March 2007, the manufacturer of Eco-Systems Sustainable Exhibits has built an extensive distribution network that now includes more than thirty distributors in the U.S. and Canada.

Today, Eco-Systems Sustainable Exhibits, Inc. announced a joint venture with Portland, Oregon-based exhibit builder, Classic Exhibits, Inc., that combines their design, manufacturing, and distribution strengths to meet the overwhelming growth and demand for their green exhibit systems.

“Our sales and distribution network ramped up so quickly, we realized that we needed Classic’s manufacturing strength to meet demand. Classic Exhibits, Inc.’s reputation for quality manufacturing and rapid turnaround, combined with their West Coast-based operations, made this partnership a natural fit. Thanks to this joint venture we can rapidly manufacture superior products that are built to the highest environmental standards, and reduce the consumption of fossil fuels by eliminating the need to transport our products across the country from Michigan. It’s a win-win for our customers and the environment,” said Tim Morris, founder and CEO of Eco-Systems Sustainable Exhibits, Inc.

The joint venture between Eco-Systems and Classic Exhibits comes on the heels of an economic impact study recently released by Exhibitor Magazine Group, titled “An Inconvenient Booth.” The study determined that an untapped market for green exhibiting exists, estimated at $9.24 billion.

The study also made reference to Eco-Systems Sustainable Exhibits, noting that in 2007, “the exhibit industry experienced several Green-related firsts” including the introduction of “the first eco-friendly exhibit systems.” The study also highlighted the formation of the Exhibit Designer and Producers Association Committee on Sustainable Business Practices, led by Eco-Systems founder Tim Morris, to develop Green standards for the industry.

Mel White, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Classic Exhibits, Inc. said that their company knew Eco-Systems pioneer Tim Morris was onto something big, so when Morris approached them about joining forces, they jumped at it. “There is a lot of green washing taking place in the exhibit industry right now, but with Tim Morris and Eco-Systems, it’s the real deal. Tim is the industry’s foremost expert on green exhibiting, and we’re proud to partner with Eco-Systems Sustainable Exhibits in their efforts to transform the industry. ”

In March 2007, at the industry’s largest tradeshow EXHIBITOR 2007, Eco-Systems Sustainable Exhibits unveiled the industry’s first green-built portable-modular exhibit. Judges labeled it an industry “breakthrough” and awarded it the coveted “Buyer’s Choice Award.” Then, in August 2007, Eco-Systems received the “Best of the Best” First Place award at the Trade Show Exhibitors Association’s (TSEA) annual TS2 event in Washington D.C.

Eco-Systems Sustainable Exhibits is the first green-built portable-modular exhibit system in the industry developed with environmentally and socially responsible materials benchmarked to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System of the U.S. Green Building Council. Eco-Systems Displays are built using a variety of materials derived from recycled content, rapidly renewable materials, and recyclable materials.
